Ruben Tapia, MPH, (left) accepts the LPHA Meritorious Award from
Stacy Hall (right).
The Meritorious Award is given for lifelong diligent and esteemed service in public
health in Louisiana by any person in full-time, part-time, or voluntary service
in a health agency, organization or coalition.

Above, Cheryl Ewing (left) accepts the LPHA Members Award from
Janet Merritt (right).
The Members Award is for outstanding, loyal and dedicated service to LPHA
by an individual who has been a member of LPHA for 5 years or more.

Senator Ben W. Nevers (left) accepts the LPHA Public
Service Award from Butch Martin (right), LPHA President.
The award is given for contributions and support to foster public health
programs or issues in Louisiana by an elected or appointed public official on
the local, state or national level.

Above, Walter Patrick Cain, III, MD, (center) accepts the LPHA
Founders Award from Jamie Roques (left) and Marilyn Reynaud, MD, (right). The
Founders Award is given for significant achievement in research or outstanding
pioneering performance in public health by any resident of Louisiana.

Louise McFarland Award for Excellence in Public Health Communication from
Cliff Murphy (left).
This award is given to recognize a media professional for accurate and
thorough broadcast, print and/or electronic media coverage of public health
programs or issues in Louisiana.
